Traditional Medicinal Uses:

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Angelica is primarily used for women's ailments, such as pre-menstrual discomforts, menstrual problems, anemia, and symptoms's related to menopause. The yellowish-brown thick-branched roots of the dong quai plant contain most of its of medicinal qualities. Other TCM uses include general tonic purposes, to improve blood stream, and for neuralgia, arthritis, hepatic ailments, as a sexual aphrodisiac, and as a common ingredient of numerous herbal formulas.*
