  Cudrania
  Pinyin: Che       Latin: Cudrania tricuspidata

Description:

The Cudrania is a decidious tree that grows up to 18 feet tall.  It is a very hardy tree that flowers in July.  It prefers light (sandy) and medium (loamy) soils and requires moist well drained soil.  It does not grow well in shade.  The tree produces small fruits somewhat like the mulberry. The flowers are dioecious (individual flowers are either male or female, but only one sex is to be found on any one plant so both male and female plants must be grown if seed is required). The plant not is self-fertile.
